About Us Established in 1987,Plants of Distinction is run by just five 'hands on' people with over 130 years experience between them. The intention was to produce and sell rare or unusual flower seeds and plants and Plants of Distinction quickly acquired a reputation for something different with the emphasis being on perennials.
The years have flown, fashions have changed, trading methods altered and so we now sell seeds and plants via two very unusual catalogues produced each year.
Just 4 years ago we launched a specialist vegetable catalogue to again meet public demand. 'Simply Vegetables' as the catalogue is known, raced to the 'top of the table' this time for unusual vegetables, in particular Tomatoes and Peppers listing no less than 200 Heirloom Tomatoes and 60 varieties of Sweet and Chilli Peppers.
We have subsequently added to the catalogue a full range of vegetable seeds of grower quality but at amateur prices. Needless to say it has proved to be a wise move and we now enjoy the company of a completely different group of customers.
Finally, our website has been a long time coming and although we will continue to send everyone our paper catalogue we know we need to 'move with the times' and are therefore pleased to introduce the site to you. Do please give it a try - we will be glad to serve you as efficiently as possible bearing in mind that we are dealing with living and perishable products.

Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our catalogue and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
We accept Visa, Mastercard and Maestro Credit Cards. We do not normally charge for any item until it is ready to ship unless it is a split delivery when we will charge on the first delivery. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

PLEASE ALLOW 7-10 DAYS FOR YOUR ORDER TO BE PROCESSED. DURING THE 'PEAK' OF THE SEASON PLEASE ALLOW 21 DAYS.

Delivery Schedule Your order will normally be despatched within 7-10 working days however during the 'peak' of the season please allow 21 days. Foreign orders should be with you within 21 days.

Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. Please advise if you prefer not to wait.

Tax Charges For flower orders made from the UK, 15% VAT is included but subject to change without notice should it become necessary. All vegetable seed is free of VAT.

Credit Card Security All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Guarantee All plants and seeds are despatched in excellent condition. Should you be dissatisfied with the condition of any plants purchased, please let us know within 14 days in writing. Obviously we cannot take responsibility for horticultural problems outside our control, eg. drought, frost damage or insect damage. Liability is limited to the purchase price of each plant/seed packet. All plants and seeds are offered in good faith as being true to name and description and are intended for private gardeners only.

Returns Policy If you are totally dissatified with all or part of your purchase we will gladly replace or refund according to your wishes and subject to the return of the faulty goods.
