Welcome to our 2009 Online Shop

We can hardly believe that Plants of Distinction is celebrating its 21st Anniversary and to mark the occasion we are pleased to introduce 'the cream of the crop' from around the world.

From 'down under' in Tasmania comes a new exciting selection of Double Hellebores and from the States we proudly introduce the first and much talked about F1 Hybrid Rudbeckia Tiger Eye. From the East comes Canna Tropical Rose, a firm favourite and only surpassed by the rarely offered Adenium from Thailand. Easy to grow and sure to be popular amongst our adventurous gardeners!

Closer to home and our Flower of the Year is the lovely Double Cosmos Bonbon Rose and the award winning Prunella Freelander Blue from France. We have some very special Can Can Petunias from Italy and the brand new Dalmation Digitalis from Holland should not be missed! Last but not least and only a stone's throw from our own front door, is the timeless classic Wallflower Suffolk Punch.

We have just published the Summer Sowing edition of the Simply Flowers Catalogue and once again we have included some brand new varieties for you to try ahead of the 2010 season.

We highly recommend the award winning Zinnia Starlight Rose, the very first bicolour Zinnia of its type to be produced and also the incredible New Millennium Delphiniums the like of which we've never seen before.

Our Double Hyacinth Collection should not be missed! With the help of the Nastional Collection Holder we have been able to bring you four of the most exquisite and desirable of bulbs. If you want to be the envy of your friends and neighbours then you should not miss the stunning Tulip Ice-Cream and its companion Lollipop. Two of the most tasteful Tulips we've seen this year!

With the cost of living never far from our minds and with more of us 'growing our own' we hope our selection of vegetables is broad enough that there is something for everyone to try. Again we've manged to find a sprinkling of new items suitable for summer sowing not the least being Runner Bean St George. It's got everything from an Award of Garden Merit to pods 1' long and it's stringless too! Couple that with flavour and you'll appreciate what we mean.

Cocktail Cucumber Iznik is an astonishing variety with smooth skinned mini fruit about 4-5" long and grows quite happily in a 9" pot in a porch or conservatory. We also recommend our uncommonly early and spineless Courgette Slick Pik and our new slow bolting Salad Fennel Finale.

Watch out this autumn for another breeding breakthrough. A virtually self pollinating Runner Bean called Moonlight. Remember you heard it here first!!

The online shop has been a roaring success and we really would encourage everyone to try this simple and fast method of ordering. We are still making improvements all the time and you will notice that this year you are now able to view the catalogue (or even print a copy) should you wish.

We are still a family run business - we still get our hands dirty and burn much too much midnight oil. We depend on your loyalty and sincerely appreciate every single order you place.

Our policy is still the same today as when we put our first Catalogue together and that is we will sell only the best quality - professional quality - seed available today and so we were delighted that in December 2007 the Consumer Magazine Which? rated us as one of the top two suppliers for seed quality and germination. You won't see our packets slashed to half price, however in many cases they are already better value than most of the major Seed Houses.

Finally, this summer as a thank you we will be including a complimentary packet of our new Zinnia Wine Bouque with every flower order totalling £15 and anyone ordering vegetables will receive a complimentary packet of Radish Topsi.

Kind regards,

David Tostevin & Sarah Missing
